Keeping Music Alive - Timeline To Date
Amy Meehan is a singer-songwriter from Donegal, Ireland, whose music is rooted in folk, acoustic guitar and the timeless songwriting traditions of artists such as James Taylor and Simon & Garfunkel. A versatile musician, Amy sings and plays guitar and piano, with her songwriting drawing on both classic influences and contemporary acoustic music.
Amy graduated in 2023 with a First Class Honours BMus Degree in Music. Since then, she has continued to develop as an artist and songwriter, performing extensively throughout Ireland and the UK while writing and recording her own original material.
In 2026, Amy completed her biggest opportunity to date when she joined Paul Carrack, lead singer of Mike + The Mechanics, as support on his full UK tour during April and May. The tour took her to some of the UK's most prestigious venues and followed a relationship with Paul that began when Amy was just 17.

Over the last few months, She has been in the studio recording her debut album with original material, which she plans to release in September 2026. My latest singles, “Big White House” & “Change It,” are now available across all major music platforms.
She recently appeared on RTÉ Radio 1, where she had an interview and live performance with Marty Morrissey. Amy performed a selection of songs, including her original song “Big White House”.
In 2016, at just 13 years old, she won the Talent Northwest Competition in Derry. Bronagh Gallagher, the acclaimed actress from The Commitments, was one of the judges and, impressed by her performance, offered her the opportunity to perform at Whelan’s in Dublin, The Empire in Belfast, and the Millennium Forum in Derry, supporting Bronagh on her new album launch tour, Gather Your Greatness.
She was subsequently interviewed twice on the Gerry Kelly Show on BBC Radio Ulster in Belfast. That same year, she also performed for MLAs at events across Northern Ireland.
For 2 consecutive years in 2015 & 2016, She was a finalist in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. This was recorded in the RTE Studios Dublin and was televised on TG4.
Since then, she has remained busy supporting established artists at venues across Ireland and the UK. Her performances have included supporting Liam Reilly’s Bagatelle on their Irish tour, Ashley Campbell, daughter of country music legend Glen Campbell, in Northern Ireland, and Aoife Scott, daughter of renowned Irish singer Frances Black.
She challenged herself during her Transition Year in 2019 to organise a local fundraising concert in aid of our local parish Church Restoration. It was a real success and it raised 7000 euros.
In August 2019, Paul Carrack of Mike + The Mechanics invited her to support him on his Irish tour that October. She opened his shows at the Millennium Forum in Derry, Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin, and Cork Opera House.
Following the success of the Irish tour, she was delighted to be invited back as his support act for his 2020 UK tour. The tour included performances at the Music Hall in Aberdeen, Edinburgh Festival Theatre, Glasgow SEC, Liverpool Philharmonic for two nights, The Glasshouse in Newcastle, and culminated at the iconic London Palladium shortly before the COVID-19 lockdown.
She received hugely positive feedback throughout the tour, both through social media and directly from Paul Carrack and his management team. The experience also helped her build a loyal and growing fanbase, many of whom continue to follow and support her music on social media today.

Before the tour with Paul in 2019, Amy had also begun to develop her own original music, recording two original songs, Say Goodbye and For You.
Say Goodbye is a deeply personal song dedicated to her cousin Shane, who sadly passed away from cancer at the age of 17 in 2019. The song reflects Amy’s memories of Shane and is a heartfelt tribute to his life.
She wrote For You following her Irish tour with Paul Carrack. Inspired by the unwavering support and encouragement her parents have given her throughout her musical journey, the song is a heartfelt expression of gratitude to them for helping her pursue her dreams.

She continues to focus her time writing new songs with the guidance of award winning Jude Johnstone, and steadily improving her musical abilities and knowledge.
